On-location photography sessions

Where we start

We start with a free consultation to discuss what you’re looking to capture in these photographs. I want to know about you, your family and your pets so I can create images that best reflect you right now and will forever evoke this time in your life when your pet brought you so much happiness. Our meeting can be done in person, via Zoom, or over the phone. I need to talk with you to understand your needs better in order to create the best work for you. So, contact me and schedule a time when we can talk.

During the consultation, we’ll talk about how to best prepare for your session. Feel free to ask lots of questions. It's not every day you hire someone like me, so ask away. I'll answer all your questions and work to make sure you have the best experience.

We'll also discuss which collection best fits how you want to celebrate your family. My collections range from $2,200 to $5,500 and include your complete session experience plus generous print credits to create beautiful artwork for your home. When you're ready to move forward, I'll send you an invoice for your chosen collection to secure your session date. Payment must be received within 7 days to hold your session.

What’s involved

These are some factors in my work: traveling, shooting, editing, printing, archiving, keeping up to date in the photography industry, and meeting the demands of my children’s video game habits. I take only a limited number of clients each month. This allows me to focus my time on creating quality work for you. It’s my goal that your experience results in memories for a lifetime.

The Photography session

In order to get the just-right shots, sessions can be up to three hours. Some animals are shyer than others and I understand that. I use my inner animal whisperer to bring a level of calm to what may be a stressful event for your pet. I also want you to be an active participant in the process. Keeping your pet happy and engaged is enjoyable for you and helpful for me to capture a wide range of shots.

For the photos you and your family are included in, I want it to be fun. I might tell some bad "dad jokes" but it will be worth it when you forget that you're being photographed and enjoy the posing and playing we do.

My top priority is that you will be very pleased with the process and the results.

Reveal and order session

At the end of our session, we'll schedule a time about 10 days later when we will have a reveal and order session. That will be the time we look at all the best photos from the day and celebrate what we've created together.

Before the reveal, you'll send me photos of walls where you're thinking of displaying your portraits so I can create a room preview. I'll be able to show you your favorite photos at the appropriate size in those spaces, such as exactly what a 20x24 canvas will look like in your living room or how a gallery wall will transform your hallway. I have samples of prints at the studio: canvas, aluminum, and mounted luster, so you can choose what works best for your spaces. As of 2026, I'll also have a signature fine arts collection. These photos are printed on fully archival paper and can be framed for archival display and signed by the artist (me).

You'll use your collection's print credit to select the artwork you love most. My typical clients invest between $2,200 and $5,500 in their complete experience, which includes the session, print credits, and often additional artwork beyond their initial credit because they fall in love with so many images.

There's no obligation to purchase beyond your collection's included print credit, but it's my goal as your photographer to create beautiful work that you will want to hang in your home. Every piece I create is designed to become a treasured heirloom that celebrates your family's bond.
